Ailsa woke up hungry and sore, which wasn’t too unfamiliar a way for her to wake up. What was unfamiliar was where she woke up. It took her a while to figure out where she was.
“Oh!” she exclaimed as the events of the day prior came back to her. “I’m in Nordhaven!”
Nordhaven! Imagine that! She’d always dreamed of visiting Nordhaven, but it had always felt like an unattainable dream. But now she was really here!
She didn’t have long to sit and be amazed, though. Hunger clawed at her belly, and she really needed to find something to eat. Luckily, a food stall was open, so she hurried over to buy some breakfast.
“Hi, can I get uhhhh…” Ailsa looked over the menu, trying to decide what she wanted to try. The lady sighed, like she was used to indecisive customers. Feeling a little self-conscious, Ailsa ordered a baked mousse.
It was pretty good!
Ailsa walked around the neighborhood with her mousse, taking in all the sights. She was just finishing up her breakfast when she saw a little pottery shop. Pottery was always something she’d had a passion for, so she decided to check it out.
There seemed to be a pottery class going on so Ailsa signed up and sat down. As she practiced her skill, a few other women sat down with her. They all appeared to be beginners just like her, so she didn’t feel too self-conscious about her skill, or rather, lack thereof.
Her round vase turned out rather well, much better than she expected, and the blush glaze looked very pretty. Satisfied with the vase, she checked out of the shop and headed off to explore Nordhaven.
It was such a beautiful town, with so much to see and do! Ailsa wandered around town, looking at everything she could see, and admittedly getting a little lost a few times. After a while, she came across a canal that looked perfect for fishing. Since her guppy had sold so quickly at the flea market, she decided to try her hand at catching more fish. Maybe she could even catch something for dinner!
Before too long, Ailsa had caught quite a few fish, and had sold some of them to passersby. She mounted a few of the remaining ones, and now had enough money to buy a new train ticket.
But as she was heading toward the train station, Ailsa’s phone buzzed. Strange. She didn’t know anyone who might have her number. She checked the caller id, but it was an unknown number. Warily, she answered the call, but before she could say anything, the person on the other end of the line spoke.
“I’m wealthy. Very wealthy. Just last month I bought Social Bunny and Cupid’s Corner. Just straight up bought them. You caught my eye, and I was hoping to get the chance to meet you in person. I know it’s a lot to ask, but I have gifts for you. What do you say?”
Ailsa would’ve been lying if she’d said the text didn’t intrigue her. She deliberated for a moment, before responding, “Sure, I’ll meet you.”
“Hey, that’s great!” the caller said. “I would send a limo but I’m kind of a cheapskate. I’ll be waiting at the Beso Rápido Motel in Vista Hermosa, Ciudad Enamorada. I can only meet today, very busy with many CEO things. Hope to see you.”

Ailsa stared at her phone. Well, that was weird. She considered ghosting the wealthy weirdo, but something made her decide not to. She wanted to see where this would go. And so, she hurried onto the train to Ciudad Enamorada.
