The rules to my Sims 4 Fixer Upper Legacy Challenge are similar to Pinstar’s Legacy Challenge, which can be found here. However, there are some special rules I have made specifically for this challenge.
My Rules
- Start each generation on a lot with a house that is trashed and very much not suitable for living in. You MUST clean the house and make it livable before the next generation heir is a Young Adult.
- Each generation MUST have §0 in household funds when they move into their fixer upper. The money to buy the fixer upper MUST come from the previous generation’s household funds. NO freerealestate cheats! Mommy and Daddy must buy the house for their kid. Use the Transfer Funds option to give the heir EXACTLY enough money to buy their fixer upper when moving them out.
- Each generation MUST have at least two kids. One must stay to inherit the house they were raised in, and the other must move out to the next fixer upper.
- You MUST have at least §1,800 before cleaning up each room, and you MUST finish a room before moving on to the next room. Each room has must have specific items to be considered finished.
Master Bedroom: 1 double bed, 1 dresser, 2 nightstands, 1 rug,
Kids’ Bedroom: 1 single, loft, or bunk bed, 1 dresser, 1 toybox, 1 stuffed animal, 1 nightlight
Living room: 1 sofa or loveseat, 1 coffee table, 1 TV, 1 console table
Kitchen: 2 counters, 1 fridge, 1 stove, 1 sink, 1 trash can, 4 upper cabinets, 1 smoke detector, 1 stove hood
Dining room: 1 dining table, 4 dining chairs
Bathroom: 1 toilet, 1 sink, 1 mirror, 1 shower OR 1 tub, OR 1 shower/tub combo, 1 roll toilet paper
Study: 1 desk, 1 desk chair, 1 bookcase
Outside: 2 trees, 3 bushes, 5 flowers, 2 rocks, outdoor trashcan, mailbox - You CANNOT sell any trash or furnishings until AFTER all of the rooms have been finished. No selling them to get more money for furnishings. All removed objects MUST be placed in the household inventory until the required furnishings have been placed in each room. Only if the household inventory isn’t available for an object (such as holes in the roof) can you sell it. You MUST NOT replace windows, doors, stairs, or other objects that can’t be placed in the inventory until AFTER each room is finished.
- You MAY “finish” the rooms with the most basic, cheapest furnishings and replace them with better ones later, however you CANNOT replace the “finished” furnishings until ALL the rooms are “finished”. For example, if you “finish” the bedroom with a cheap bed and move onto another room, you cannot replace the cheap bed with a better one when your sims complain about their sore back until all of the other rooms are “finished”. Choose your furnishings wisely.
- You MUST have at least two bedrooms finished before you start having kids. One bedroom must be the master bedroom, the other must be for a kids’ bedroom
More rules may be added later, as I progress through playtesting the challenge.
